  Wendell and I grew up east and west of the Collinsville, Texas town and
  school. We were friends. At about 12 or 13 years of age my family had
  finished hoeing our row crops ( cotton and corn) and my mother let me
  walk 9 miles over to spend the night with Wendell. Neither of us had
  telephones. We lost contact after high school. In the 1990's I located
  Wendell in Alba and we visited and reminisced.
  Wendell's wife, Sharon, is a very wonderful person. She took great care
  of Wendell. Wendell told me he had a great family! He loved them
  very much!
